School Welfare Program (SWP)

Empowering Teachers. Inspiring Students. Bridging the Gap.

About the Program

The School Welfare Program (SWP) is an initiative of the ELF Foundation focused on supporting high school teachers and students in underserved communities across Africa.

Many educators in these regions remain deeply committed to teaching despite low salaries, limited resources, and difficult working conditions. SWP exists to recognize their dedication, improve their welfare, and enhance the quality of education delivered to students.

Our Mission/What We Do

To support and motivate teachers, improve student learning experiences, and bridge the resource gap in underserved schools

1. Teacher Support & Incentives

We provide cash and material support to outstanding teachers who demonstrate excellence based on:

  • Student performance
  • School management feedback
  • Teachers’ regulatory standards

Additional Benefits:

  • Transportation support for rural teachers
  • Long Service Awards for dedicated educators

Recognition and motivation incentives

2. Student Learning Support

We enhance student learning by providing:

  • Educational materials
  • Access to practical learning tools
  • Improved classroom engagement opportunities

3. Mobile Computer Learning Initiative

Many schools lack access to functional computer labs due to:

  • Poor funding
  • Lack of electricity
  • Limited infrastructure
  • Shortage of trained instructors

Our Solution:

  • Deploy mobile computers to schools
  • Provide hands-on computer training
  • Integrate sessions into the school timetable
  • Support existing teachers with practical tools

This ensures students can experience real computer usage, not just theoretical learning.

4. Rural School Support

We focus on rural and underserved communities where educational challenges are most severe. Our interventions are designed to deliver high impact with limited resources.

Our Impact (2025)

  • 6 Schools Supported
    (4 Government, 2 Private)
  • 73 Teachers Benefited
  • 1,200 Students Impacted

These numbers represent lives improved through better teaching support and access to learning resources.

How We Are Funded

The School Welfare Program is funded through:

  • Donations and sponsorships
  • Income from ELF Foundation programs

Why It Matters
